Fulani group under the auspice of National Fulani Youths Support for Buhari Campaign Organization (NFYSBCO), on Thursday throws their weight behind the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group at a Press Conference in Kaduna, also declared their support for Malam Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna and his counterpart in Plateau State, Simon Lalong for reelection as governors.
The leader of the group, Alhaji Adam Nyoman, stated that the endorsement was informed by the President’s effort in tackling security problems in the North East and the country in general.
According to them, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stole too much if 16 years and such, does not deserve to return to power, and that President Buhari has done a lot in the last 3 years.
“We are here in Kaduna together with all the representatives across the country to sensitize and enlighten our members to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari considering the good work he has started in the country.
“We have realized that the government of the day have put a lot of effort to tackle security problems, but selfish politicians are relentless in their effort to see that this problem continue.
“However, President Muhammadu Buhari administration is defeating their selfish effort through peace advocacy that is going on all over the country.
“Therefore, the peace building process of this administration has started yielding positive result.
“For example, the trouble areas like North East, North Central where a good governance of Barrister Simon Bako Lalong and El-Rufa’I of Kaduna State has played an unforgettable role through operation safe heaven and other security agencies for peace return in Plateau and Kaduna State respectively.
“Therefore, these people deserved to be re-elected. Furthermore we are also appealing and calling on all Fulanis in the country to be law abiding citizens and embrace peace and also to come out to vote President Muhammadu Buhari again.
“We are also calling on all our members to shun all forms of Political thuggery for peaceful, free and fair election to take place. We also hope the issue of Zamfara will stop through our good advocacy.” They added.
The group also accused the PDP of using hunger as campaign strategy, saying, “Nigerian are no longer fools. They have forgotten they were the perpetrators of these hunger by emptying the public treasury through massive looting.
“Therefore, lets shine our eyes! Because this government has revamp the and other security economy and agricultural sector through good governance, good policy and proper accountability.”
